Aircraft Ferry | Lexington, NC

I will say that while my husband has a great job and he loves what he does, I hate it most days. Let me clarify, I don’t hate the job, I hate the hours! He works twelve to fourteen hour days, nights, weekends, holidays, you name it and he misses A LOT! He has missed Christmas’s, birthdays, school programs, weddings, family trips, reunions etc. I know a lot of people in my family had started wondering if we were secretely divorced after about my third or fourth trip to Michigan without him! Lol. I would always say, I promise, I have a husband and he does exist! Everyone always asks me, how do you do it? Don’t you ever get tired of him not being here? Of course I do! But…we have gotten use to it over the years! It is normal for us and we just do it. My husband goes to work every day and saves lives!!! And I am ok with that!

On the upside, Tim loves what he does and that makes me happy! And our son thinks he has the coolest daddy in the world, well, I mean, he does! There are certain perks to the job too, and this weekend was one of them! Tim got a call on Thursday to ferry an aircraft from a base in Lexington, Nc here to Tennessee. When he gets those calls, we get kind of excited, becaue I get to go with him! Last year we got to fly to Boston and pick up an aircraft and that was an amazing trip! We have so much fun and its a nice little trip for us to get away and spend time together! Bless my momma for dropping everything so that she could watch our kiddos while we were gone. They just loved spending the night with Memaw anyways and they don’t get to do it too much. Despite me being a little under the weather, it was a great little trip. It was a beautiful day on Saturday for the flight, not a cloud in the sky. Which made it very sunny and very bright! Taking pictures can be quite difficult when you have mid day sun beaming you in the face and you are shooting through a window, lol, but here are a few highlights of our flight! It was beautiful flying over Blue Ridge Parkway through the mountains and I feel so blessed that we are able to do things like this together!

Next time, we should probably take off before noon! See what I mean about FULL sun!  It was HOT. I think I prefer raining and clouds! Lol. 2014-02-25_0005.jpg
